Hi everyone I am having a real problem with my SLK200 Kompressor 2001.

The other morning when it was cold I went to open the car using the fob and nothing happened.
I also tried using the key in the door, that also would not work. I could hear a noise coming from the car, this has now ceased.

I have changed the battery in the fob with no joy, this is also the only key I have.

I have heard the battery may be flat, but cant get in to open the bonnet.

Has anyone have some answers as how to get into the car without breaking my window.

Regards
Ryan

Hello and welcome with your not so good news, and it does sound as though the battery is flat.

By spraying the locks with PTFE or Silicon they can be made to work, it may take a little time but it will work in the end

Thanks Malcolm

Thought I would mention also that water has also been coming in a little from the rubber door seal where the glass seals against the roof.

Could this have been part of the problem.

Any answers welcome.

Regards Ryan.

Have you try the key with the boot?
