Hi Guys
CLK 230 Kompressor 2001
Help- just had a small amount of body scratches removed from the car, and when I got the car home from the garage I noticed now that when I lock the car, the car lights do not flash 3 times as before. The car does lock, but not in the normal fashion. Any ideas what is wrong please, Many thanks Carole

The lights normally flash to let you know that all the doors & boot are closed. If one is still open although the car will lick the lights do not flash.
Are all the doors and boot closed and all the door light switches working?

Thanks for the reply , yes all the doors and boot were locked this morning, but now noticed the" boot lid open button" is lit up inside the car. Went shopping this morning and put shopping in the boot - now the boot will not open- bu the key or the button help.......thanks

If the open boot switch is illuminated then the car thinks the boot is open, which is why the lights don't flash.
When the scratches were removed did they have to access the boot?
If you have not already done so pls try the key in the boot, pressing it in and turning it whilst lifting the boot. Alternatively have an able assistant hold the open boot switch up whilst you try and lift the boot up.

Thanks - I have managed to get into the boot with the small key that comes out of the large black key - any ideas where to proceed from here. The boot lid button is still lit up and is not working the boot at all. Does this mean a dreaded trip to the "merc main dealer - ". Carole
