Long crank w208

W208 starts fine on a cold start, every time.
If I drive for 10 mins and start again it will crank for 30 seconds and then eventually start. If I remove the key during the long crank and reinsert the car starts immediately without the long cranking issue. Can anyone shed some light on this?

clk3202001,sl6002003 with everything regrettably sold ,A class 170cdi auto. NG/TF1800 ML250
Crank sensor playing up when warm wud be my best guess and or issues with comms from ignition switch..
Try reading, noting clearing codes read again after long crank and see if anything comes up.
