i,ve got a 1998 W210 E200 saloon and i have to say its been a great car up to now,i had a slight problem with the electric windows and had to take it to the main stealers to sort out they ripped them selves off by doing work which i didnt authorise so it only cost me £180 to sort instead of £480 that it should have cost,all they had to do was ring me to confirm too...idiots, i take it to a specilaist in stockport nad hes very good,SPR autos...but i have to say my car is very reliable and hasnt got any rust anywhere and is a joy to drive.....am i unusual?or is it just the people with bad cars that use this forum?happy motoring.

I think your's was probably built just before they started reducing quality. Mine is a 2000 E240. Its not bad as such and I would not want to travel Leeds to Manchester and back every day in anything else. But, when I think of the parts that have been replaced over the last 4 years, it comes to quite a lot - steering rack, plug leads, oxygen sensor, Air Mass sensor. Currently I need a new heater fan regulator and I am waiting for MB to approve some rust (3rd claim). Admittedly the rust is very slight and almost invisible, but it is there.
