Looking after my A160's bodywork

I have just bought my first MB and wonder what members views are regarding MB body protection fluids/polishesetc. The brochure makes me think I should try it (even at MB prices) but is really worth it. If you don't use MB stuff whose is best. Is it worth putting mud flaps on or not? :?
