NickP - sounds cool, but I can't say I'm all too certain about going to another country for a service.

I would agree with you ...I long ago gave up with main dealers, I use 2 very good guys in East Anglia. Stewart & Wisbey at Ely and Autotechnic in Loddon.

Stewart & Wisbey are Mercedes specialists but a typical old fashioned garage, Autotechnic is a mini me version of a main dealer, Mercedes only, and what they don't know about Mercs isn't worth knowing.

I had a 99 C200 Elegance Petrol (worth less than you are looking for) and it never let me down, absolutely reliable, auto box was great. I drove around the continent with it and it never gave me a moment of concern. I now have a C230 SE, same again, well pleased with it.
