Hello

This week I'm taking delivery of a brand new CLK350 convertible (wahey!) - but I need some help.

The dealership I've bought it from is a travesty, the salesperson has the brains of a whelk, and I have absolutely zero intention of using them for accessories, servicing and so on, in fact I hope never to see them ever again.

So, I need a reliable dealership to service the car over the next couple of years, and I need them to show me properly how the car works (the moron who sold it to me didn't know how the button gear shift worked) and how to get the best out of it.

Can anyone recommend a good, honest(!) London dealership who can show me how to get the most out of my new car, and who's prepared to invest a little time in restoring my confidence?

Thank you!

Out of Interest which outlet did you buy your car from? Was it Roman Abramovichs local?

In terms of a London dealer I would imagine they are all pretty much the same given that they are all owned and operated by Mercedes-Benz UK with the same management.

You need to go outside the M25 to find a dealer owned by another company.

Given that you have such a lovely car to drive might I suggest a great drive, M4 west to Pembroke/Fishguard and take Irish Ferries [Pembroke] or Stena[Fishguard, fast ferry between April and October, 100 minutes] and then drive over to Waterford where you will find an official MB dealership who charges about €75 [£50] per hour, where Orla will welcome you as a valued customer and where Martin will show real interest in your car and in keeping it running right. Yes, he will charge you but you will get what you expect, courtesy, honesty, no crap and no condecension....and treated the same whether you come casual or otherwise. Advantage- they are not owned by MB. Your warranty will remain intact and off peak [outside June/August its quite cheap. Better still, do it on a Thursday night, bring the other half, book into a Travelodge just a short distance away and make it a romantic trip.... With the ASSYST system you only need it once a year and what a treat. If you like golf Faithlegge is only a short distance away.
