Hi sorry to put up a post that has probably been asked hundreds of time before but I'm a newbie so bare with me

I'm looking to but a 190 diesel as a way of cutting down some of my fuel expenses and keeping the mileage down on my other car. Can anyone offer any advice as to what model might be best (if indeed there is a choice of diesel) and any common faults I should look out for when I go to look at them.

Thanks a lot

JB

Hi JB

I cant comment on the Diesel variant, but from my ownership of a petrol 190, you cant go far wrong. They are cheap to run and insure, parts are reasonable to buy, and you can get a squillion miles from a properly maintained engine and gearbox. They have a couple of quirks on them like the second gear start on the auto, and the ignition key being on the wrong side  , but get past those and you have a quality entrance to the world of the star... (even if i did sell mine  )
