Evenin all,

I would like a little help and advice on the folloiwng:

I'm looking to purchase a C class Estate, either a 180, 200, or 220.

My price limit is £7,000.

I'v been looking at some 52ish Reg Plates, and the best mileage i can find is around 65,000.

I've also found a couple of newer models, i.e. 54 plates, that have done 120000 ish miles for the same price.

For this model is it a better choice to go for the newer car with more miles or the older car with less?

Cheers in advance

Matt

I'd be tempted by a newer model. The quality is better, especially if you can get a facelift one. Assuming it's a diesel 220 with 120k, it's likely to have been a well maintained motorway car so wear should be minimal. It does depend on what mileage you intend to cover though.

Hear hear. Diesel automatic, good body, correctly maintained, mileage no object.

I confess, I am keen on diesels, but the least powerful petrol autos still have plenty of go, and sensible economy.

Good hunting - there are lots of cars about, so be choosy. ;)
