LOOSE MATS - WASHABLE? (Very superficial query - but necessary!)

Will my loose floor mats (tan-cloured - not very practical) go in the washing machine? And, more to the point really, come out in one piece?

And does anybody know of a good, powerful, cordless, re-chargeable vacuum cleaner?

Cheers

Mats and carpets are never the same once washed as it tangles up the pile and fibers, a light brush with some carpet cleaner should work fine and only the surface gets wet doing it by hand.

Most portable cleaners will not pull the skin off of a rice pudding, but maybe there are some better ones these day

I washed the floor mats with no detergent in an cool wash and dried them flat in the sun, turning them regularly. They were as new when dry. Best left to a warm summers day ( remember them?)
