On an "enthusiastic" drive back from Cambridge today I noticed on bumpy, fast sweeping bends the rear of the car seemed to move, not a lack of grip (was there in abundance ) more like the body shifting over the suspension, like a worn link or failing shocker.
Also noticed on bumpy straights, at high speeds, the car seemed to rock on the diagonal, FNS to OSR.
Car is going in for a B service next week so will mention this but does anyone have any suggestions?

Movement in tyre sidewall?

Could be but with 245/40s I wouldn't have thought it would be that noticable? I don't recall it happening before but I was pushing quite hard.

My Vivaro van needed new front bushes at 18k miles!

I know it's not a Merc, but I was still astonished - a letter to the manufacturer had no effect. Gone are the days when components are built to last. :(

Tyre pressures, one worn tyre, loose suspension bolt or worn rear suspension links

Tyres and pressures fine. I'll get MB to check the others during the service next week.

I would have said not tyres if at correct pressure, my 35 Back and 40 front do not give any side movement, compared to the 50 on the smaller wheels, any suspension joint could cause it.

We had one a while back where a rear bush had failed and the car changed direction when accelerating
