Loosing water

Hello all just signed up so I hope someone can help. I have a 1990 230TE which is leaking water into the passenger compartment. Front and rear and both side footwells all full of water. This has only been occuring for about three weeks and I need to top up the coolant with 1 litre every two days or so. Has the heater matrix gone or is there a simpler solution.

I assume the dash needs to come out if its the matrix.

Any help would be appreciaited.
