loss of power & overheating

after driving over 500 miles and still on my way home, loss of power slowly started, power decreased and overheating occured, o.k ticking over but no power when accelerating.mass air meter is o.k, changed fuel filter. what can I do?? 1997 c180 classic, bought 6 months ago,last service 6 months ago, was in crash 3 months ago

have you checked coolant level/condition?

sounds like a cat failure ,blocking the exhaust therefore temp will go through the roof.
exactly what i went through when mine went. no power except to get off the motorway and pull over ,even had to put heater on full fan speed to get temp down .might be worth a look.
