I have a 1997 e320 with 110k miles and have recently experienced a power loss problem once the engine gets to about 3500rpm. When i kickdown or place the auto box in a fixed gear I get the same issue - greatly reduced power and, with what seems to be, a badly misfiring engine. Below the 3500 it runs like a dream.
Anyone out there have any ideas?? I had the car serviced 6 months ago, which I was assured included plugs, filters, etc. I don't really want to have go back to my friendly but expensive Merc' dealer unless I really have to.
