Hi All, I hope all is well. I was wandering if someone could help me?

I have a 2001 E240 Ava, The problem I am having is sometimes I will start the car and when I start to drive the yellow management light will flash and the car will have no power The revs could be as high as 4/5 and it will go at 20-30mph. When I stop it would feel like it will stall and cut out. I will re start the car and the car will be OK. The yellow light will still be there. After a short will or a fast drive I will restart the car and the management light would disappear. After 2-4 days this will happen again.

Also when the car is stationary it will slightly shake. The revs are 0.5, which I have been told is OK.

Can anyone help please?

It's a difficult one.

Could be many things.

I was going to suggest MAF as the most likely explaination, but I can't recall if that triggers the engine warning light.

From what I remember (Malcom will no doubt correct me) disconnecting the MAF appears to cure the problem when it's misbehaving, but its not a cure.

You're best bet is to get the fault codes read. That's why the light is on even when it appears to be running OK.

Thanks for the reply, The light indicated that it requires new coils, but i swapped them and no joy. I am going later on today to swap the MAF/ Air Map sensors..It that the same?

Been there - done that.
MAF for the loss of power/idle near-cut out.
For the shake at idle - new plug leads required (assuming the plugs are ok)
Coils are a very doubtful 3rd.

However It is only shaking when I have the brakes applied. So it will drive Ok and when i come to traffic light it will start to shake. Any help

you mean it shakes a bit when idling?
It all depends on how severe. A subtle shake normally means that one plug is missing. In which case, leads and / or plugs. More violent shaking at idle could be throttle body.

When it is Idle it is a subtle shake, however i have just swapped all the plugs...The revs are between 0.5 and 0.7.
