Lost key Fob

Hi,

I've either lost or misplaced my key fob for a E320 today near my home.
Is there a part I can remove to stop it from being stolen until I locate the remote?

Also if I don't find it can the spare remote I have be re programmed so that the lost one is disabled?

what year/model is your E-Class?

It's a E320 CDI estate on an X plate 2001.

As far as I know they cant be re programmed.
