Lost key - is it replaceable?

Hello, I have an A 140 from 2003. I'm over in Spain and I have lost my one and only key. I've tried a Mercedes garage who said they don't make those keys any more and can't help. I've also tried a locksmith who says they don't provide the service I'm looking for. I bought a second hand key off Ebay with a blank transponder as somebody told me I could get this "programmed" if I could find the right locksmith. I'm stumped at the moment but wondered if anybody on this forum knew whether this problem is solvable or if it's a lost cause because my car is too old? Thank you in advance for any advice!

I think you will have to take proof of ownership your ID and go to Mercedes main dealer who will be able to issue you with a new key, this won't be an over the counter purchase though.

You will need to send us the immobiliser unit and the door barrel from the car. There's more information at the above link. It will be a non remote key.
