Love this forum problems with electric fan

This is my first post so please be kind i have a 123 280te that i have had for a week love the car and we use it to pull our trailer have found this forum so helpful so far with the self leveling suspention and the central locking.
but after the rain we have had today the electric fan keeps coming on and of very iraticly the temp is very good and quite stable there is 2 relays under a black cover near the offside wheel arch under the bonet could this be the problem?? please can you give some adv.

Update have taken a good look and found what looks like a thermastat coming of the airconditioning unit at the front of the car looks like a bolt with 2 conecters coming from it take the wires of and the fan stops what part is this ? if i moved the wires i could hear what sounded like a rely ticking under that black cover i mentioned please please can anyone give me any adv even if its to shut up lol

The bolt thing is either a pressure switch or a temp switch. This is wired to the relay and turns the relay off and on.

I'm not a 100% sure, but I think the sensor is a pressure switch on the A/C unit.

Normally there is a temp sensor in the block somewhere that turns on the electric fan.
