2015 E class 220D Bluetec Auto
Dear all

I recently bought 2015 Mercedes E Class 220D Auto Bluetec. I ddI top up fully the Adblue as well. My car mileage is coming with my best driving skills up to 52 MPG.
I bought this vehicle after research with higher economy MPG.
No alarms in car and recently service done . But mileage has gone down . Tried long drives and city drives to run the engine . Only plus is 31000 miles in 8 years till now .

Any suggestions or help to increase MPG. I like little economic cars.

Hello and welcome,

Fuel economy is lower in winter due to the car taking longer to get to working temperature. Keep an eye on your water temp and if it’s taking an age to get to temp then a new thermostat is required.
Also pump your tyres up to the higher figure in the fuel flap as that definitely increase fuel economy.

31,000 miles over 8 years… the £££ difference on fuel would be ~£200 per year against running a V6 3.0 petrol…

Euro 6 AdBlue cars really don’t like not being used >15K miles per year is really what they’re made for.
