Hi there,

I desperately need help,

I am based in UK, in Fleet, my car is 2004 E class - E270CDI-163000 miles

It all started a month ago, i had given the car for a basic oil/filter change

Oil/Oil Filter Changed
Polen Filter Changed
Air Filter Changed
Front left Suspensions arms changed

Later ( took 3 weeks to get these works done)

1st cylinder injector changed with a new one
swirl flaps and motor changed with a new one
intake manifold cleaned
egr cooler replaced with second hand from ebay

But now , even the car doesnt have any faulty codes, when i kicked down the throttle there is no one in there, car has so much torque before 2400 rpm, it gets lower until 2700 and after it , it even cannot show higher rpm,

Car is still smoking with a white smoke, but the guys in the garage told me it will be gone after a while, when you will drive and clear the exhaust( i believe its a big lie)

I wonder what is wrong with it, i had nearly spend £1500 , and i am exhausted, not cause of the money, the frustration that it has not been fixed again and again

Please show me a guide, tomorrow i will bring the car to the garage again but i am sick of it, show me a way on this :/

Get a different garage pal.

Where are you located
I am based in Fleet mate, i want to change the garage but after nearly spending £1500 i am just expecting some results :)

I will lastly try the same garage again, cause they cannot charge me more, if its not working i will change the garage

There is a MB specialist in Fleet , Huxleys Mercedes Specialist, i will try them later on

Star motors is a bit far away from me :/

Hello there, just an update,

Today the guys in the garage called me and tell me that there is an electrical issue in the car and they cannot fix it,
They said maybe a wire or a module going to the swirl flaps has been broken,

I had called the Star motors and Huxleys mb specialist but both of them has been fully booked until next year,

Is there any more electricians that you know and can fix this issue?

Car is ina limp mode if it does not rev over 3000, and that triggers fault codes (99% of cases). MAF fault has sometimes caused that without a code.

Where on the earth they got 'new swirl flaps'? They never been sold separately, always means NEW intake manifold... what moduke going to swirl flaps, actuator motor is controlled by ECU.

I assume turbo arm and flap actuator are not moving now? It would be nice to get SDS and try control them, simple troubleshooting. Can you hear any boost noise before rev reach 2700?

White smoke could be bad injector not closing at all, have you extra knocking sound or increase in motor oil?

Check all the fuses as a first step. The old swirl flap motor may have blown a fuse. Theyve replaced the motor, but if it isn’t getting power it will be in limp mode

Confirmed with the garage , intake manifold completely changed,

They checked the turbo arm and flap actuator too, they are working fine
I cannot hear any turbo , when the car is in the limp mode, i can hear turbo sound when the faulty codes has been deleted and car is not displaying the engine light for 5 mins , and after a while turbo is stopping working

1st injector has been changed too, and they also checked the others , they are normal

Check all the fuses as a first step. The old swirl flap motor may have blown a fuse. Theyve replaced the motor, but if it isn’t getting power it will be in limp mode

I will try this as next step , hopefully that caused it

Sounds like you have got yourself in deep with a garage that doesn't have much of a clue what they are doing.
As mioba said.

If you hear a whoosh or whine, it means a leak of boost somewhere. Smoke test needed if visual checkis not hleping (splits on hoses, crack o n cooler etc).

About the smoke, is car still smoking? White? 'Pure white' means water leak, blueish smoke is unburnt fuel (a lot) and black is lack of air on compustion process...

EGR cooler has been changed, but is function of EGR confirmed? Actuator 'box' is often filled with carbon dust and arm is jamming. You can open cover of the actuator and check (youtube helps here).

Try MBS in Southampton.

You won't hear the turbo when in limp mode. It becomes effectively disabled as part of limp mode.
