Hi all
had a strange experience with my 2005 270clk CDI.Whilst overtaking a slow moving car on a straight piece of road ,kicked it down accelerated quite quickly and then the dash lit up like a Christmas tree lost power and engine stalled .Dropped back and pulled over with no engine running ,turned it off turned on and started immediately but EML on .
Car in limp mode but drove ok but no turbo.
4 starts later light out and drives normally for another week until fast motorway run and EML pops on again.
Took it to my local garage (that services quite a few MB taxis) and it came up with Low rail pressure fault . They changed the fuel filter which was only 3 months old and told me to try it for a few days .It seems to run much better and no more EML despite giving it a fast run and hard acceleration a few times .The filter change seems to have cured the problem .Thought I would share this as it may help someone else with a similar fault .The previous day to the problem I did fill up with diesel and wonder if it was a dirty batch . Just glad it was a cheap fix .
