Good evening! Next week I'd like to replace both lower control arms on my B-class w245 (2010). There's a difficult part and I hope someone could please help me. To unscrew the torx bolt of the lower arm on the chassis, there's a little rectangular window in which I should put my wrench. I don't think I'll be able to do it, it's too narrow. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I know that on the other end of the bolt (where there is the nut and the washer) there's another window underneath the chassis (#5 in the photo) and covered by the undercover panels. Do I have to unlock the nut instead that unscrewing the torx bolt? I really don't know how to do it. Thank you very much!

Let me know how you get on, I have pair sitting on my shelf since September. You can remove the front lower cover which will give you access from the front, see red arrow. Rear is just pealing away wheel line cover.

You have to lightly tighten both bolts and with wheels (weight of the car) turn the steering fully left and right to settle the bushes. And fully tighten the bolts at normal ride height position. The bracket holds the nuts

Wishbone -to-axle carrier: 120 Nm + 90 degrees.
Ball joint -to- knuckle (hub): 50 Nm + 60 degrees.

The arrow I indicated in the picture is looking straight into the hole from the front of the car. You will need a long extension. You DO NOT need to remove the front bumper, just the lower engine compartment panelling (A61.20-P-1105BK) as WIS calls it.

Here is a video on a A class (W169) which is same, but will give you an idea what I'm talking about.

see 12:48

17:20 is the hole

Hi everyone, I'm trying to remove the undercover panel under the front bumper. It doesn't come off. Does anyone know how to extract it? I've seen online that the panel has two horns, but I don't know how to remove them from their place. See pics taken from web. It's urgent. Thank you!!

Maybe spray some lubrication like WD40 over the horns ? Not much help I’m afraid , that’s different to both my cars , good luck

In your picture it does look like they are just location pins/horns

I think too, but there's no space to let them slip away. There must be a trick

In the end I removed the panel. The only possibile way for me has been removing a little the front bumper (without disconnecting all the parktronic sensors wires) to have enough space to remove the two "horns" of the cover. I think it's the only way, but manual (Wis) doesn't tell it. I hope it could be useful for someone in the future!
