99 c230 komp.

want to lower it with 18s. Did a search but couldnt find anything, except one guy says he prefers eibachs (which I have experience with and liked) and one guy said he was told H&Rs are the best for a smooth ride.

So... do I need to get lowered shocks as well if I just buy eibach springs?

ANd, does anyone have a picture of their car lowered on any springs so I can see the wheel gap? I dont want to slam it, maybe have two fingers of gap.

B12, quite agree!

Me too.

Mine's a 124 series sportline coupe with 200K+ miles on the clock.

Installation of B12 was an inspired move. Brilliant.

I'll report fully on this separately.

If you need new dampers, go the whole hog, for very little extra money and fit these spring and dampers - great.

thanks for the replies. I hate being the newbie and having to ask newbie questions, but I guess you have to start somewhere.

This is my first Mercedes.

other cars I have owned and modified include a 95 eagle Talon

BlackC55, are you a vendor, or do you have a used bilstein kit for sale or something?

Yep, springs & shocks, matched to your car

Hello,

This link:

http://www.carparts-cat.com/webkat.asp?SID=0000081495176723018004&ROOT=1

... takes you to the selection process for your car.

Drill down to the suspension kits and you should find a B12 to match.

I identified mine like this (I got there from www.bilstein.de) and then I had to add up the points (front & rear) for the car's specification. This equates to the amount of weight on the springs, front & rear.

I then found the best deal (£550 delivered to me here in France) which was from:

www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/

It arrived here within a few days of payment being cleared and the rest is history.

I note that you're in Canada so I suggest you find a Bilstein stockist there.

Bon courage.

Woops, sorry ,,,

... or you get it from Oliver at PCS.

Doubtless he will have some pearly of wisdom re selecting the right kit.

so, what about my question:

if I cheaped out for now, and only put on springs, would my shocks blowout sooner than later, and force me to get shocks anyways?
