luggage cover

hello all, I have a 2014 W212 estate my problem is this, when I have my luggage cover extended all is good but when I close the tail gate once closed the cover raises to the tailgate open position. when I open the tail gate it stays where it is. once I close the tailgate again its covering the view to the rear view mirror. I have tried fitting, unfitting and taking the whole cover out. I have tried opening, switching engine on/off , the only way to ensure its not in the way of the mirror is to push it down. where as its not the end of the world its a bit frustrating any help on this matter greatly appreciated many thanks for you time .

At a guess it may be a micro switch in the boot itself that is sticking, therefore not giving the signal to the mechanism to lower the cover. Afraid I wouldn’t know where to start looking for something like that but hopefully someone will be along soon.

btw are you sure about the year of your slave, 2014 would be the facelift 212?
