GLA 220d sport 2017
220d sport GLA 2017. (2.1 diesel, Renault engine) (Odometer reading 45,000)

First noticed when running in fourth gear around 1400-1600 rpm. Little hiccups as if not picking up the fuel correctly. Diagnosed as a fault with a flap actuator. When accelerating etc the car runs fine. No issues with tick over neither has the fuel economy been adversely affected. I've possibly lost 4-5 miles per gallon average.

So the inlet manifold and all the other associated gubbings have been replaced. However the fault is ever so slightly still there. Also at start up it can take more than the usual time to turn over (a couple of seconds as opposed to instant before this fault appeared) and is quite lumpy and noisy when doing so.

When on the diagnostic machine the following fault codes were displayed. The garage reset all the below after fitting the new inlet manifold etc and road tested the car as OK. I'm now thinking this is a fuel / air filter issue after the car was serviced at the same time as having the manifold fitted. Neither of those filters were changed as they weren't scheduled for this service (45,000 miles)

A1059A (B21059A) The capacity of the starter battery is too low. The operating conditions for the component or the system are not satisfied.

N3/9 Motor Electronics 'CDID3' for Combustion Engine 'OM651' (CDI) (CRD3) 200A21 (P200A21) The Charge Movement Flap (Cylinder Bank 1) has a Malfunction. The signal Amplitude is Less Than the Minimum Amplitude.

N118 - Control Unit 'Fuel Pump' C40100 (U040100) Implausible Data Were Received From Control unit "Combustion Engine".

Any thoughts greatly appreciated and instructional text or video to change the fuel filter on this model.

I was not aware that the GLA 220d sport had a Renault engine. Are you sure, if so do you know, the Renault name for the engine, so that I can cross-ref to the Renault site.

If this flap is in the inlet manifold, then I would mention it to the garage that installed the manifold.

You may be correct but a local garage who first diagnosed the fault but was unable to make the repair was the first to mention it to me.
