and your first automatic?
autos take a bit of practice to get the 'stop' right without lurching - i still dont do it every time... but then i have only been driving for 4 years...
try this test (dont do this too often - its not good practice and not really good for the gearbox.
put into neutral at 10 mph or less - then stop - does it still lurch?
if so - then its your right foot that needs a service

thank you for your reply, maybe i didnt explain fully, this is something that started very recently,it seems that the final change down from 2nd to 1st gear as you come to a stop has become more like a sudden jerk forward than a smooth change down, any advice?
