M-B alarm autoclose - Sunroof yes but not windows

Hi - Can someone offer advice on an original fitment alarm for my '93 190E, please?  There is no manual for the alarm.  The keyfob locks/unlocks the doors no problem.  It also closes the sunroof.  But it ignores any open windows.  Is there likely to be fault or are there some manual settings I can alter somehow?  Seems a little odd to me that it doesn't go the whole hog and shut the car completely.

looks like one of 3 possibilities-

1-try keeping the alarm keyfob button pressed while trying to autoclose the windows-that is what my car manual-c200 -1997 says should be done...

2-could be a loose wiring connection between alarm and windows.-do not where this could be

3-check fuses for electric windows./

I have to keep the button pressed in if I want to shut the windows on my current car. Correspondingly, if I keep the unlock button pressed the car will open all four windows. Hehe must be h*ll
on the battery :biggrin: I dunno if this is the same on your '93 190E.

On my 97 C Class, you have to hold the key fob against the sensor on the door, then press and hold the button to get the windows to open and shut.

For saftey, the window closure (and usually sunroof), works only from  shorter range than the central locking.

Just a note to say thanks for advising on getting those windows up.  I haven't managed to activate them with the key-fob with longer presses, closer to the car etc.  Will carry out a wire and fuse hunt sometime.  If I find the solution I will post it.  Nobody else suffers, or remembers suffering, from the same problem..??

Must have missed this feature in the handbook.

Just popped to the car park and tested it.  Works as described - just keep the button pressed as long as required.  Nice :biggrin:
