Three year old 53000 mls. The Driver's side ' Heated seat' failed in a spectacular way and has burn't a hole through the Leather seat squab. Although the local M.B. Dealer has "never come across this problem before"
They did fix it F.O.C. and it proved my lucky day as it was also the final day of warrenty.
My fears now are " its a design fault " and will reoccur; anyone out there had a similar problem ?
Yes! Both my wife and I will now wear Artic Top-coat and Thermals next winter.

To be truthful, I have never heard of this on any car,but I am pleased that you are keeping your cool, on this heated discussion.

So if the comfort seats fail will they freeze your butt off or will the little fans slice you up??

This is a problem with MLs. I have seen several and they all fail on the right hand side, towards the rear ( on your righ bum cheek ) There is a problem with the seat frame rubbing through the heated element and shorting out. The seat should be taken apart again and the frame area modified so as it doesn't happen again.
