G'day
Purchased a S211 around 8 months ago, had some error messages on Icarsoft MB2 show, Right Hand MAF value too high and also the upstream oxygen sensor.
I replaced the lambda but the fault has subsequently come back. Replacement was a Bosch part bought from a reputable source. I have previously had an issue with an intercooler pipe splitting which has now been resolved. When running with the split pipe I noted that the rear exhaust pipes were very black and the rear of the car dirty. Is it possible that this could have contributed to the failure of the lambda sensor? Dirty air blown through exhaust damaging/crudding up the sensor?
The MAF fault seems a little strange, car running fine, but today I decided to change the air filters with Mahle replacements. When removing the old filter I noted that they had K&N filters Not added in my ownership!). Now I seem to recall from certain Porsche models that the fitment of K&N filters had an adverse impact on the MAF as oil drawn through filter accumulated on it, has anyone any experience of that causing an issue in this engine, I'd rather not replace MAF as my understanding is that this only comes as part of the "bat wing".
Any help or advice very much appreciated.
