Magazine stuck in CD changer - any ideas?

The magazine has got stuck in the CD changer to my Audio 10. The dash display on the head unit says 'No Mag' and pressing the little green button to remove the magazine from the changer in the boot produces a pleasant flashing green light....but nothing else.

Does anyone know a way to remove that reluctant magazine, or is a trip to the dealer on the cards?

I did this once on an Alfa. I began by carefully removing all the screws I could see and setting them down in order of removal. I then kicked them accidentally thus cocking up the order. When I had undone all the obvious screws I tried to get the thing apart using increasing levels of force and pinging very small springs around.

To cut a long story short I mullahed the changer but the magazine did come out whole.

On reflection I'm probably not the best person to advise you on this one.

This has happend to the changer in my car a couple of times. In my case caused by dirt on the head. In both cases local audio independants whipped the (boot-mounted) changer out in minutes, removed the case (ditto) cleaned the head (ditto) and reassembled and replaced.

20 mins work, nominal fee.

Couple of things to try:
Press and hold the eject button
disconnect the leads to reset it

if that fails; take it out and take it to pieces. I was able to fix my Blaupunkt one, a lever inside had become detached. Go on!

Many thanks to all for this varied selection of cures - guess I'll try them all, and probably end up having to admit defeat and waiting until the next service (only 800 miles to go!)

This happened on my sony - there is a reset hole (on the sony anyway) push the end of a paper clip in and hey presto out came the mag
