As I am the Technical Advisor in a Benz/BMW workshop in China, doing some 30 cars a day, life can be hectic. The other day, new years day, I was in charge of the workshop. Most of the senior techs had the day off. Leaving me with mainly apprentices. Whilst I was working on the first floor of the workshop, an apprentice on the second floor decided to start the engine on a 221 600 Benz, when the sign on the windshield clearly stated DO NOT OPEN IGNITION. He had connected the exhaust emission extractor to the car. The car backfired with such a ferocity that the 13 pound, steel end of the extractor parted company with the pipe. This projectile the whent through the winshield of another 221 600 benz, departing through the rear windshield and continuing onto the bonnet of a 220 320 hitting the windshield it whent vertical (at the speed of an aircraft in afterburn) it hit the roof and fell to earth (Directly on the DAS Test Eqpt) only 250,000 dollars worth of eqpt. Upon hearing of this disaster I decided to retire to the reception and make a cup of coffee (needed to relax before the boss finds out). Upon entering the reception I found a service receptionist, having heard the loud bang, had promptly fainted and landed in the bosses (floor level )fish pond, killing two of his prized and very expensive Japenese fish. Ok, thought I, Ill retire to the kitchen - cant be any disasters there - WRONG. The Chef had a heart attack and had been rushed to the hospital, where upon I phoned my wife and said make a new resume, Im going to need it. Cant wait for the next episode.

My day today has been similar to that!

That fish pond sounds like a real health and safety risk (you should have a life-guard), but how wonderful that the garage has (hopefully he'll recover) its own chef.

Shame the chef got it. He could have sushi-ed the fish before the boss found out. At least you could have left on a full stomach:twisted:

About time then that you moved over to rubber ends on the pipes, no damage to the paint work either, never seen metal ends.

the Chef

Well the Chef is alive, just, and will be back at work soon. 2nd Episode, the Boss came to work this morning to learn of his dear departed fish. His response was - the cars and equipment are insured, so no big deal. So he sent for the apprentice and asked what the hell he thought he was doing. The apprentice, very shy at this point, replied (I was only going to move the car from the lift). Quite foolishly he added (but dont worry boss all is insured) at which point the boss replied - My ****** fish werent insured. The boy replied, I dident kill them, the services assistant fell on them and anyway they sure tasted good when cooked - seeing the expresion on the bosses face I decided it was time to leave the office and look for my resume again. Yes another good day at the office///
