I have tried to obtain a workshop maual for my 1997 E300turbodiesel estate but no success to data. Can anybody help?

I have been looking for one for the E320CDI but as far as I know there is no Haynes manual or similar.

I use E-bay and there are regularly offers of Cd/CD-ROM manuals covering the W210 including [sometimes- watch you don't buy a US edition] the 300 turbodiesel. Try www.ebay.co.uk and search Mercedes W210 or Mercedes E Class.
