manual speedo to electronic-petrol engine out deisel in

Hi lads-reretrol engine to deisel engine Sl300 24valve 1992 -putting in 1990 deisel 250 engine and gearbox.Can anyone out there tell me how i can fit the electronic speedo to my manual speedo on this automatic box. This seems to be my biggest hurdle fitting the deisel into the sl.

any help appreciated.

I would have thought that you can use the speed signal that is on pin 1 of the radio plug or take it from the speed signal that is normally in the nearside kick panel

Hi Malcom. Thanks very much for your time,I am leaving origanal electronic instrument panel in the sl, the auto gearbox i am putting in has a manual flexi drive for speedo,How will the electronic speedo work ,by connecting to radio pin1 or nearside kick panel Where are they? Many thanks Brian

On the SL and 124 cars the pin 1 on the radio is a speed signal ( many faults come up where the owner has fitted a non MB radio and killed the speed signal and the speedometer)

With the speedo drive on the other gearbox just ignore it and fit a blanking cap to stop dirt from getting in

You might be able to swap the daughter for a nice SL

That must be "corner stone" Yes and correct,,on the early boxes the limiter was on the fuel pump relay,,these day its done in the box
