So kind of him to fix my long standing faulty clock , time setting on the W216.
Wow it now all works properly.
The 1 hour 26 mins difference between the analogue clock and the Comand time is gone, they are both in synch
and the date is finally correct!
So nice to have the ETA on the Sat Navi system correct .
He also sorted a few other things.
Once again many thanks for your time.

Is it possible to create dash clock setting after a Comand has been replaced with an after market unit?
Reconnecting the battery at midnight isn't convenient.
