Hi all,
Recent addition to the forum here. Had my Merc for approximately 4 years and has been a dream ride so far.

Found this forum as I've decided to hold onto her for dear life (good motors are a rare find) and this one has been trouble free since I got her.

Looking for inspiration on body kits and tuning as the paint work and interior need some attention and I'd rather spunk some mullah on styling her my way rather than buying new and being in debt for the next 5 years.

1st day here and I've already read so many helpful posts, great forum and community.

Looking forward to exploring more.

Matt

Welcome. Fair play for being sensible and keeping a good, reliable car going.

Kit wise, I think genuine AMG kits are spot on and anything else will make it look like like max power monstrosity. As cars get older, standard or tastefully close to standard looks great, unless you enjoy being the local laughing stock.

Thanks DSK,
Definitely! Tasteful, was what I had in mind anyway.
Considering a metallic forest green respray, de-badge and maybe front and rear AMG kits.
Recently had OEM front and rear springs and dampers but didn't lower it. I'm not sure if lowering springs is right for her, might be if I added the kits but not with the classic E350 styling.

Hello and welcome

Can't fault you, in my day a car wasn't personal unless it had wider wheels, lower stance, rear spoiler, a go fast stripe and a huge V8 under the bonnet, or in the case of Anglia's, Escort's and Cortina's a 3 ltr V6

I'd probably resist the lowering urge purely because of the state of our roads and being full of speed humps, the great wrecker of front valances and tyre sidewalls! Welcome by the way!

Welcome, know the feeling about keeping hold of a car rather than trading it in, had mine now for over 6 years and really can’t find anything else I like that isn’t going to set me back £20k to change, that money is betting in the houses and pension

True I've only owned 5 cars in my life and this Merc has been the most reliable by far... the others have been trouble from the start and needed lots of work. The three company cars I've had, two hand me down commercial vehicals which were okay and one new BMW that hit me hard on the BIK tax so not keen to back there.
A Mercedes I always thought was out of my price range, but the E350 came to me from one owner at 67k on the clock and a price I could afford. So far has been a dream.

Wise words I travel a lot and see so many potholes... might need to rain check the splitter.
