Hi! First of all - this is a great forum I think! Now to my problem: I have a MB 380 SE with a 6 cyl. engine (I know it´s a V8 originally). It´s a standard 6 cyl. gasoline engine with carburator, and now I wanted to know if someone has the information of what the ignition (fire) order is, e.g. wich cylinder should fire first, then second and so on...
If someone has a 6 cyl engine, it can be found from there, wich cable from the distributor goes to wich cylinder... I really would apprechiate this help, because the engine and the car is in very good condition otherwise, but it has terrible exhaust values, and runs very badly on both idle and higher rpm:s. Does anyone by the way know what this could depend on?
I right now has it at a workshop, and they´ve measured the exhaust values, and they say that some exhaust value is up to 8000. The highest limit here in Finland is 800, and if you got that high, it´s firing is very bad. The repairman said that if you have a 4 cyl. engine and cut off one cylinder, you still have no more exhaust than 2000, so this is VERY bad...
Thanks for any help out on this one!
