Hi all - new to this forum, looks quite active and I hope to be able to contribute when I can.

Question, is it worth joining the Mercedes-Benz Owner's Association, from what I can see it looks very useful - I was wondering how many of you guys are members and what your thoughts are regarding the benifits of being a member?

Especially interested in the discounts for parts / servicing

Thanks - I'll ask my local garage (Robinsons, Cambridge) if the honour discounts and how much they give. :)

It definitely saves you money to join the Association, apart from receiving your informative monthly magazine, many of the Official Dealers and a lot of the Independents will give discounts on parts and servicing averaging 10%. The MBOA Insurance Scheme offers preferential rates for members and many other insurance companies will give discount to Association members. The RAC also offers a discount to members.

The Association is currently preparing a new Yearbook, due to be sent to members in the new year, which will list Dealerships and Mercedes Specialists throughout the country - another good reason to join. Currently new members receive a FREE sample of Miracle Drywash, the revolutionary new waterless car cleaning solution, so what are you waiting for, click back to the Association home page on your toolbar and JOIN US NOW.

We would love to have you on board and would love to feature you and your cars in the magazine. We are here to save you money and serve you right!! Jill, Membership Secretary

Thanks Jill,

Does the owner's association do a husband and wife membership and will it cover all three cars (might be selling the 350 though)?

Yes MW, At present membership covers husbands and wives and all private Mercedes owned by you - so at £35 you have to admit it's a good deal!

Me again MW, I forgot to mention that members can advertise their cars for sale in the monthly magazine, Mercedes Owner, and on the website for free.

Jill - thanks for info, the car is already sold, just got to be brave enough to let it go, had it for eight years and it's hard to part with it, but hard to justify under 500 miles a year.
