New member would appreciate anyone telling me where the alarm module of a 1997 C180 Esprit is situated. I checked under the rear seat but not there. And the pump too. My car refuses to respond to the fob sometimes but responds at other times. Inner lights also stay lit. When I disconnect the battery for a few minutes, the car responds to the fob but misbehaves after some time. The autoelectrician said its to do with the alarm module but can't locate it. Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Goddy.

Central locking problem

Had same problem as yours on E Class a few weeks ago, on both keyfobs.
Luckily one fob stopped working completely so replaced battery, then realised that other FOB had same problem.
On E Class you have to insert the fob into the ignition, switch to the first (auxillary) position, then hit the open/close buttons 3 times to reprogram the fob.. and then switch off.
May not be the same for the C Class, but new batteries are worth a punt at a few quid each, rather than looking for alarm problems. If that does not help then sorry but you eliminated one possible cause! Good luck
