My CLS has the warning system that advises if the car has been hit by anything. Recently, the car has been parked in an off airport car park at Heathrow. On collecting the car, a warning screen came up advising that the car had been hit, at the front, at a specific date and time. I did find very minor damage to the front but to be fair to the parking company they identified it on pictures taken on entry to the car park. It is a very minor chip and i hadn't noticed it until alerted by the warning system . So it wasn't caused in the car park.
Which leaves the question of what set off the collision warning. The parking company say that it can be triggered by vibration from aircraft taking off and that they have a lot of problems with this in their airport car parks - the car park manager did roll his eyes a bit when I mentioned it was an MB. I could understand that it might happen but would have thought it would need a specific impact to trigger the message.
Does anyone else have any experience of this happening?
