I think you are on to a bit of an oxymoron there mate! ;) :p

Do you mean specialsit as in somewhere special to sit? :)

Sorry, seriously I've never looked for one as I do all my servicing myself and use a local garage for MOTs.

cheers hibbo -look forward to your reply
I always think its best to get a personal recommendation rather trusting to random luck when it comes to servicing

Is it an r129?

What are you actually looking to get done? Just regular servicing and maintenance?

The R107-im just looking doe someone who knows their way around these old buses for gen servicing and maintenance -i suppose any decent garage could do this but its nice to have someone whos enthusiatic for the marque -thats my experience with other marques ive had like lotus and tvr and saab, especially with older cars where main dealer prices are too high and std of work is often poor

I hear you brother. The bloke that lived opposite my mate runs a place that does a lot of work on old cars, and he did a decent job of respraying bits of my mate's w124 coupe. I'll try and get hold of him and see if he's a mechanic (as opposed to being just a bodyshop) and knows his old Mercs.

What year is yours? As the r107 seemed to run forever!

Actually someone at work recommended me to a specialist who is well known in Busby nr glasgow -name of brian something -i rang him up today for a wee blether and he seemed v helpful with soem techie questions i had -and his service rates seemed reasonable -mind you glasgow is a bit far just for a service but its good to know there is proper specialist in scotingland for more serious stuff like headwork and the like
Off to catch my haggis for tonite !

Hi, I use Brian Melville in Busby for my repairs, very decent guy who will go out his way to help you, didn't want to suggest him as I thought it was to far for you but can only say it's worth the journey if you can trust someone like Brian
