MB Model Code ID Letters / Numbers?

Please forgive me if this has been asked before, but I searched the site and the web (obviously not very successfully though) for a model list that details the various MB code letters by type / year.

For example I have learned in here that W 210 relates to a E240, however I'm not sure if that is for my year model (2005) and would like to make certain.

Is there such a list here or on the web somewhere?

I think you will find that you car is a 211 series, this number is part of your VIN on the car and logbook, the next 3 numbers tell the updates or next series, ie, a 211061 is earlier than a 211261, and the 261 will have updates and mods, ie maybe a different gearbox, could be a face lift.
Take a look at the link that has all of the numbers displayed. looking down the list you will see how many updates accured by the second set of three numbers.
