I just read in Mercedes Enthusiast the new C230K is a 1.8litre supercharged?
How come it isnt called a C180K then?
Has this always been the case with the kompressor cars, the NA C180's are 1.8s arnt they?

Also what is the model number for a 1995 C-class?

Thanks!

A friend of mine has a C230K Coupe and swears blind its a 2.3 litre, but having seen the engine it is most definitely an 1800... :D The MB website also states its an 1800....

P.S Model for 1995 C Class is W202 (if that what you're after?)

MB naming conventions changed about two years back. Prior to this, the numbers ALWAYS depicted engine displacement, but not neccesarily anymore. Only a few models have 'misleading' model numbers.

MB have taken the lead from BMW on this one - Beemers too have model names which don't reflect the actual engine capacity.

I thought it was weird when the 300 SL became the SL 300 - 24

and the 200 E became the E200

What was all that about? trends? I didn't think MB went in for all that guff.
