So went to my local MB dealers (Nottingham) to order service parts for my W251.
Its on 90k and asking for a C service.
So got the parts chap and asked him what I needed. We cant tell you that sir we are seperate from the parts dept (first annoyance). I kindly asked him to ask the service dept and give me an estimate.

He come back 10 mins later and says its an A service with a few fluid checks:
Oil MB 229.52 - 59.99 each gallon (need 2)
oil filter - 13.50
Sump seal 1.20
Aircon filter - 53

I took the estimate away

So a call to MB Newcastle yes sir no problem
Oil MB 229.52 - 25 each gallon (need 2)
oil filter - 13.50
Sump seal 1.20

Delivered next day with parcelfprce 24. Receipt shows same part numbers as that of MB nottingham estimate. That markup on the oil is ridiculous.

Aircon filter - i got from GSF for 25 quid Mann same minus the MB logo with same Mann part number.

Daylight robbing bar stewards MB nottingham. An utter disgrace daylight robbery.

Rant over.

So another heads up to MB newcastle.

I wonder how long it will be before MB decide to introduce price fixing on parts like they have on new cars?

Had a quote recently for a brake fluid change on my 4 series :

Douglas Park BMW , Hillington (Glasgow) - £140
Douglas Park BMW , Glasgow (City centre) - £77

I swear they make it up as they go along , so not just MB as they are all at it.

Are they not part of the Arnold Clark Group now? If they are, that says it all!

Parts aside, I stepped into that Nottingham dealership twice, once for parts when I just acquired the CLS and second to view an SL500 and oh my word, they think they own heaven!

Never experienced such up ones ar53hole, pompous, inadequate, disjointed service in my life. Will never step foot in that sh!t hole again!

Parts they gave me after 15 minutes were incorrect, why not let me show you what I need on the computer instead of make me sit in a stupid fvcked up coffee lounge surrounded by dumbfvcks being smiling at getting raped for buying their new plastic box. Second time, if that’s how they prep a car and call it mint, it scares me to see what folks accept as fine these days!

My understanding is that when it was BK Thomas back in the day, it was a genuinely good place but, not since it changed. Can’t say the dealership in Slough is any better from experience either.

when I wanted some trim clips for my Smart, I was presented with 3 different print offs from their EPC .... none of them the right one. Why can't I look at a screen like you used to? Sorry .. you can't! I tried to make that point by emailing MB customer services but got now where. I found what I wanted via an online EPC & showed AN Other MB dealership. I'd looked at a MB dealership for them that sells via eBay that, on the face of it, offered free delivery however I bought them over the counter at a local dealer for somewhat less.

I've just ordered brake discs & pads from a local MB dealership. My opening line was that I was playing them off against MB Newcastle on eBay! His replay was that he didn't know how they sold some of their stuff so cheaply. However he managed to beat MB Newcastle's price for the discs by a few quid! ;)

Remember what happened with my original MB brakes? They started falling to bits immediately. MB Indy said they use a softer material now. Well done MB for putting my family at risk…

ECP sourced Brembo’s are doing what they say on tin very well, considering I am used used to upgraded setups.

Fair play to MB Newcastle, they offer a good service and actually get you the parts you want first time.
