MB Recalls

I've just had a letter from MB with notice of two recalls .... 'water accumulation at spare wheel well' and 'corrosion of steering rack bolts'

Is this just a cunning ploy to get my car back to MB for the 'upgrade' to my car's engine software?

: water in the wheel well can apparently can drown the fuel pump which might lead to the car cutting out which could lead to loss of drive which could lead to impending death

: and obviously impending doom if the steering rack parted company with the leccy steering motor.

I bet they’ll take the opportunity while they have the car it’s income to them

Time to draft a letter about their liability if EML and Nox issues occur in the next year should they do the update - signed by them of course

Make sure they sign work sheet as no updates permitted.

Just glue the OBD port cover shut .

I'd put an OBD port emulator in and relocate the original one

I have 2 recalls for Airbags and Diesel Emissions, they can do the airbags but not the emissions

I checked at mb Swindon today.. No emissions recalls ref my ml250. So it ain't goin in for any recall that MB can infect my software.

Mine was recently recalled for the Passenger Airbag

I have 2 recalls for Airbags and Diesel Emissions, they can do the airbags but not the emissions

So be careful about letting them do updates. It's my understand that mb will not all selection. Its plug in or don't plug in....
