Probably not they're either sacking the Chrysler deadweights in the US to save on pensions and sick benefits and/or the bean counters who impliment policy not decide it.

seems to me as with a lot of big business, theres a lot of dead weight, a lot of people just there to generate reports that nobody actually needs and justify their own paycheque. People who are there to check that people are doing their job properly and effectively, who are at the same time slowing people down, by forcing the to waste hours proving that they are doing their job efficiently therefore reducing efficiency. I think that makes sense... well it does to me.

Its sad, and on a personal basis I feel for these people, but it is a fact that large corporations tend to accumulate tiers of management and admin staff that whose sole purpose is to monitor other tiers of management. They in turn .....
Lose a couple of tiers and the company starts to function more efficiently. The reality is that in many cases, these people stopped doing anything useful a long time ago and probably know it. As scary as redundancy is, its often the door to a better life! So, I wish them well but, at the same time, I'm quite happy to stop paying them by accepting lower service and quality.
