They did tangle before when MB sold Auto Union (Audi) to VW in 1962.

egr= exhaust gas recirculatioon, used in cars & trucks to meet eu3 &some eu4
scr= injecting urea solution into the final exhaust box to reduce polutants

addblue= trade name of the urea solution.

urea = **** to you & me

you are more likley to see a merc sourced engined in a VW in a market where it would be cost prohibitive to send VW parts. thats why the VW deisel is being used. it does the job. why pay to make your own and ship it over.

Yes, the rear doors on the new Sprinters have the Three Pointed Star in the join between the rear doors. When I went to collect my Polo there was a VW van with exactly the same layout, just with a VW badge in the same place.
