If I join MBOA, what kind of discount can I expect on parts form the main dealer? If I don't join, what kind of discount could i expect as an ordinary, though increasingly regular, visitor to my local main dealer for parts?

If you vissit your dealer regularly, one would expect that you may have already have conjured up discount for yourself. I think they may offer discount to trade, but as a mere mortal probabily nothing.

w.r.t the MBOA, it depends on the dealers some offer upto 15% discount on parts and service while other offer a big fat zero.

where is you local dealer i will look it up in the yearbook and get back to you later.

my local dealer is Southwell Road West, Mansfield, Notts. There is another dealership in Nottingham in West Bridgford. I spoke yesterday to the Southwell Road lot and they said MBOA discount is 10%. Does this sound about right??

that's about what I get from my lot

although it isn't across the board. some parts won't attract discount, like the set of keys I've just ordered for our 124. The partsmen say it's at least as good as the trade get, if not better sometimes, and as I actually respect them and they are pretty good to me, I believe them.

I am based in nottingham and Nottingham do also give 10 % discount.

Thnks Miobas. You live in Nottingham as well. Small world or what? I'm in Southwell so it's North Notts. Well if you see a K reg, Almandine Red, E-Class 124 saloon with rust on the front wheel arches that'll be me! See you on the road my friend.

MercedesBenz of Gatwick main dealer gives 15% off labour charge of an excruciating £97 per hour to any merc over 6 years old.

But they have to be reminded of the fact when comes to pay up time.
They've had this discount for the last 15 years or so that I've known them.

Perhaps if you give Milton Keynes head office a call you could ask them if this is or should be policy at all main dealers, as most service managers probably may not know it exists if it is a general discount given by all main dealers.

Since joining I get 10% off parts with MBOA card produced, before the dreaded VAT is added of course, plus the monthly magazine which makes it worthwhile with ads from indies & specialists throughout the country.
