mbss wont let the car start

I have c280 and suddenly yesterday the red and green light flashing on door handle and green on the mirror and unable to start the engine please give some tips how to reset the mbss alarm system

I have to call the breakdown services and they disconnect the battery and start the engine

What year is the car John and have you checked the battries in the keyfob.
The Red and Green on mirror should also flash in exactly the same manner as the door handle, is that the case?

Hi, Welcome to the forum,
As Dec says check the fob batteries, as even if the car still unlocks/locks on the fob, the batteries could still be U/S.

The thing I am curious about is that he doesn’t mention the Red light in mirror flashing, bulb dead maybe?

Just to clarify, the excellent photos dec has put up shows a separate Scorpion fob as well if you have,nt got this it means yours is a later car where they intergrated the locking and alarm functions together in one fob.
