HI All

Great forum!

I am looking to buy a cd changer for my 2002 C270 CDI. I presume i need a MC3010 glove box one.

I have also read that the cars should be pre-wired with the wires behind the glove box. However when i spoke to the dealer he claimed this is not true and that the fibre optic cables cannot be pre-wired without the cd player there.

How can i check and who is right?

Any pics would be helpful, of wire locations etc!

TIA

Christian.

The C-Class (W203) was pre-wired for the glove box fitting.
In the ML, the CD changer is fitted in the boot.
Ask your friendy dealer to check on his computer if it's left or right.
You can then check if the wiring is already there.
The fibre optic cable consist of two orange wires together in on black connector. The power supply has a small black plug that is rectangular but with one end at an angle.
If you are interested, I have an MC3010 that I removed from my A-Class as I now use the car for a driving school.
I also have a 3ft fibre optic if you still want to fit in the glove box.
