I have just taken delivery of an '05 E class 320 CDi with memory pack and am having trouble getting the car to remember particular seat settings when a different key is inserted.

Can you save 2 different settings to 2 different keys so that when one key is inserted the seat automatically goes to the relevant setting or do you always need to press the "1", "2" or "3" on the memory button panel on drivers side door?

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, there's no pairing of the key fob with any of the memory settings, but someone else will be along soon to either confirm or deny that.

On my CLK which has keyless go the key will remember the settings for when it is either placed in the ignition or keyless go is used. Eg my wife always uses the ignition & i the keyless go but both our settings are stored in Memory 1. You could then add further memory positions to 2 & 3 and the seat would move to the position that the memory button was set to when the key was used.
In our case it would be possible with 2 keys to have 6 memory positions set.
I would think that if you have 2 keys you could program 3 positions per key.

The seat will move to the memory position that was saved when the ignition was on.
Set the memory position with the ignition on and store it, then when you take the key out of the ignition if you have the convienience exit turned on the seat will move back and the steering wheel up. When you get back into the car and put the key back in the ignition the seat should return to the saved settings.
